From Captain to Commercial Real Estate

As a former Division 1 Lacrosse captain at Syracuse University, I gained valuable lessons in leadership, teamwork, and perseverance. On the lacrosse field, I learned the power of clear communication and setting expectations to drive success.

During my job hunt last spring, I knew my strengths would directly apply in an environment where leadership, being able to work in a team, and helping others were the focus. For these reasons, I decided to join Apis Advisors.

We're taking a unique approach to commercial real estate by combining data and technology to streamline decision-making and provide exceptional service to clients. Being born and raised in an ultra-competitive city like Dallas, TX helped me understand the core values of hard work and leadership. I feel fortunate to be surrounded by and learn from thought leaders in the industry in my daily work life, where constantly pushing the boundaries and staying ahead of the curve is woven into our DNA as a company.

As a forward-thinking commercial real estate professional, I am always looking for ways to grow and improve, both personally and professionally. That's why I have embraced the power of technology, data, and AI tools to enhance my skills and knowledge.

I believe it is important to approach new technologies with an open mind, rather than shying away from them because they may "disrupt" traditional methods. Rather, we are embracing technology and using data-driven approaches to inform our decision-making, we see ourselves as thought leaders in the industry.

Leadership is crucial in both sports and business, and I'm heavily influenced by the teachings of L. David Marquet and John Maxwell. Marquet's philosophy of empowering individuals and giving them autonomy portrayed in his book “Turn the Ship Around!” resonates with me deeply because that sort of structure is where I thrive.

Maxwell's emphasis on positive influence, ethics, and communication guides my actions in my daily professional life, but more importantly in my personal life. Like the most prolific thought leaders in the world, such as Marquet and Maxwell, the developers of these data and AI tools are pushing boundaries to help change the world. They are true thought leaders, and I am grateful for their contributions to the field.

As I continue to grow in this industry at Apis Advisors, I am committed to being a thought leader myself and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Whether it's through incorporating new technologies, applying the leadership lessons I've learned, or simply striving to be a better person every day, I am dedicated to helping my clients achieve their goals and making a positive impact in the world. The lessons I learned as a Division 1 lacrosse captain continue to inform my work as a commercial real estate advisor.

I firmly believe that we are on the brink of a massive transformation in the real estate industry and the world at large, thanks to some advances like AI and cutting-edge data analytics tools. I'm excited to seize the opportunity before me and combine my leadership skills, strong work ethic, and insights from thought leaders with these amazing new tools. I can't wait to see how we can leverage these tools to drive success.
